RONALDO DOESN’T WANT MBAPPE AT REAL

Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo does not want to see Kylian Mbappe join Real Madrid because he is wary of losing his star status at the club, according to Diario Gol.

The Champions League winners have been linked closely with Monaco’s wonderkid, with rumours of a summer signing continuing to circulate.

But Ronaldo is reportedly worried sharing the spotlight with Mbappe will harm his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or again, and would not look kindly on the blockbuster signing.

MAN UTD TO OFFER £90M FOR BALE

Gareth Bale Real Madrid Champions League 060317

Manchester United will offer Real Madrid £90 million for Gareth Bale, but will wait until next summer to do so, says an exclusive report from the Express.

The former Tottenham star has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, though Zinedine Zidane’s desire to keep hold of the attacker has ended any potential deal.

Jose Mourinho retains an interest in Bale, though, and will launch a fresh approach for his services in 2018.

MONACO NAME MBAPPE PRICE

Kylian Mbappe Monaco 2017

Monaco would be willing to sell Kylian Mbappe if they were to receive a bid of €180 million, according to L’Equipe.

The Ligue 1 champions are continuing talks over a contract extension with the teenage forward amid interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid.

And they are now set to consider selling, but only if their demands are met financially.

MAN UTD GIVEN BALE HOPE

Gareth Bale Real Madrid ICC

Jose Mourinho’s side could be on the verge of a fresh move after Zinedine Zidane could not guarantee that Bale will stay with the club this summer.

Madrid are hoping to sign Kylian Mbappe in a record deal, with the former Spurs man seen as the most expendable of Los Blancos’ stars.

MILAN ASK ABOUT RONALDO’S INTENTIONS

Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal

Milan’s CEO Marco Fassone and Massimo Mirabelli had a meeting with agent Jorge Mendes in which the subject of Cristiano Ronaldo was broached, according to Sky Sports .

The Serie A club bosses were hoping to be alerted to any situation that would see the Portugal star leave the club, though there are no negotiations over a potential deal at this point.

HD Karim Benzema Real Madrid

Arsenal and Liverpool could make a move for Karim Benzema should Real Madrid decide to sell the French striker, Don Balon reports.

Madrid reportedly have set their sights on Monaco star Kylian Mbappe, with the club planning to use Benzema to help finance the move. While the Gunners and Reds are in contention for Benzema, the 29-year-old also could end up at Monaco to help lower the price for Mbappe.

DEMBELE FAVOURS REAL

Karim Benzema Juventus Real Madrid UCL 03062017

Real Madrid supremo Florentino Perez has decided that it is time to sell Karim Benzema, Spanish outlet Diario Gol reports.

ASENSIO WANTS MADRID REWARD

Marco Asensio Eibar Real Madrid LaLiga 04032017

Marco Asensio wants to be rewarded by Real Madrid for his progress last season following interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus, according to  Don Balon .

Madrid president Florentino Perez is determined not to sell Asensio, but the forward is looking for an important role in Zinedine Zidane’s team and a contract matching the terms which the likes of Arsenal and United can offer.

MADRID EYE DOLBERG AND BERARDI

Kasper Dolberg Ajax vs Lyon

Real Madrid have made Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg and Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe, Marca  reports.

The European champions are in search of a new striker after Alvaro Morata’s move to Chelsea and will target a cheaper option should talks over Mbappe break down. The Italy Under 21 international and the Denmark No.9 would be brought in to play a back up role to their star forwards.

Malang Sarr Nice Ligue 1

Chelsea are facing a fight to sign teenage Nice defender Malang Sarr, according to  Sky Sports .

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested in the centre-back, who has a €40 million release clause in his contract.

MORATA CLOSES ON €80M CHELSEA MOVE

Alvaro Morata, Real Madrid

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is closing in on an €80 million move to Chelsea, claimsMarca .

Morata had previously been a target for Manchester United, but the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford, and inability to agree a deal with Madrid, has seemingly seen the Red Devils move on.

AC Milan have also shown an interest, but Morata now appears poised to join Premier League champions Chelsea to end manager Antonio Conte’s search for a top-class striker.

MADRID WON’T REPLACE MORATA

Alvaro Morata Napoli Real Madrid

Real Madrid won’t sign a replacement for Alvaro Morata, if the Spain international striker leaves during the transfer window, reports AS .

AC Milan and Chelsea have been linked with bids for Morata, after Manchester United seemingly ended their pursuit after bringing in Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Madrid want Morata to stay for another season, but if their €90 million valuation is met, they won’t move to bring in another striker.

CHELSEA SHY AWAY FROM MORATA BIDDING WAR

Alvaro Morata Real Madrid

Chelsea have no intention of being dragged into a bidding war for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to the Daily Star .

With Diego Costa on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge, and Romelu Lukaku opting for Manchester United, the Blues need to bring in a new name up front.

But despite strong interest for Morata from manager Antonio Conte, the Chelsea board are unwilling to go up against Milan and spend over the odds in the battle for his signature.

INTER PLOT KROOS MOVE

Toni Kroos Real Madrid

Inter are prepared to test Real Madrid’s resolve by making a big-money bid for midfielder Toni Kroos, according to  Sport  Mediaset .

The San Siro club are feeling the heat as archrival Milan have undertaken a massive spending initiative this summer, and feel that the 27-year-old Germany international could be available at the right price.

Zimbabwe sables face Tunisa in their 4th encounter of the Rugby Gold Cup. (Standings after round 5)

The Sables seemed to have started on the right path when they won their first game against Senegal but it soon became turbulent when they lost two consecutive games to Namibia and Kenya. However this came not as a surprise as much because both sides are ranked better than Zim on the world rugby rankings i.e 21st and 25th respectively. Due to their loses the Sables fell one place down from 35th to 36th.The Sables definately have to win this one and chances are quite high as Tunisia are ranked 51st on the world rankings.

Chelsea vs Bayern Munich, International Champions Cup: live stream and preview

Chelsea vs Bayern Munich, International Champions Cup: live stream and preview

Chelsea Football Club and Bayern meet for the first time in almost four years, since a Friday night in Prague in late August 2013, when Romelu Lukaku kicked the last ball in anger of his Chelsea career, failing to convert the decisive penalty kick in the shootout that gave Bayern the win in the UEFA Super Cup.

While that occasion was semi-competitive, this time around we’re purely in it to play it and fitness it. It’s the first of two games Chelsea have scheduled for this summer’s International Champions Cup, Singapore edition, and while that sounds important, it’s still just a friendly with an added bit of marketing.

Date / Time: Tuesday, July 25, 12:35 BST; 7:35am EDT; 5:05pm IST

Venue: National Stadium, Singapore

Streaming online: Chelsea FC vs bayern munich

Chelsea team news: Despite the drama of the first month and a half of the summer break, Chelsea’s pre-season preparations have not really missed a beat, and that’s despite the injuries to Eden Hazard, Timemoue Bakayoko, and now Pedro as well.

Things are only set to improve with Antonio Rudiger on his way to join the squad finally while Chelsea will have fellow new signing Alvaro Morata available for the first time ever as well, with Antonio Conte confirming the plan to give him minutes off the bench. Meanwhile, young Charly Musonda has been working extra hard to get back to fitness after more nagging injuries.

Bayern Munich team news: Since we last met Bayern four years ago, all they’ve done is win the German league each season and add a couple German cups as well for good measure. Surprisingly, they have managed to win exactly as many Champions Leagues as Chelsea since then, zero, and that’s despite hiring Pep Guardiola for a few seasons.

Now managed by the cuddly set of eyebrows known as Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern are looking to continue their domination of the domestic game by making smart moves in the transfer market, signing the likes of Corentin Tolisso, Nicklas Sule, Kingsley Coman, and James Rodriguez (on loan!) while not losing anyone of any significant import. That said, the double retirement of Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso have left massive voids to fill.

Bayern are coming off a draw against Arsenal and a surprisingly poor 4-0 loss to AC Milan, two results that have left fans questioning whether these pre-season marketing tours are really worth the trouble and effort and the coaching staff altering plans to rest their already weary players.

Sri Lanka chase record total to beat Zimbabwe by four wickets in one-off Test at Colombo

After losing ODI series, Sri Lanka restore some pride as they chase down record 388-run target to beat Zimbabwe by four wickets in one-off Test. Rangana Herath was star of the match for his 11-wicket haul; Dickwella and Gunaratne hit solid fifties in the chase.

The Chevrons Set a record 388-run target but Sri Lanka remained calm under pressure to beat Zimbabwe by four wickets in the one-off Test in Colombo on Tuesday. Dickwella and Gunaratne, after the hosts lost two early on the final day, had a brilliant stand which put the chase on track and left very little for the batsmen to follow. Dickwella fell short of a well-deserved hundred but Gunaratne stayed there right till the end and saw his side through. For Zimbabwe, Cremer was pick of the bowlers for his four wickets but the leggie didn’t get enough support from the other end. 382 was the previous best chase in Sri Lanka in a Test match, and it was clearly a very special effort with the bat by the hosts.
